Information for employers seeking Loma Linda University Allied Health Graduates
Our LLU graduates are in high demand!
We receive many calls from employers seeking to hire our LLU allied health graduates to fill their job vacancies. There is a high demand in the marketplace for competent allied health practitioners. Many employers look to the schools for new graduates seeking jobs. Unfortunately, there aren't enough graduates nationwide completing degrees to meet today's demands within the health-care arena.
To maintain student and confidentiality, we do not sell or provide lists of our students or their contact information to employers. You may submit your information to us, and we will make it available to our students.
The following are suggestions for employers on how you can help curve the demand, attract, and advertise your positions to our Loma Linda University School of Allied Health Professions students:
Hire LLU grads and mentor our students.
-
Hire new LLU graduates. Our graduating students have extensive, cutting-edge information and fresh ideas. This also gives you the opportunity to develop competent professionals in your practice area.
-
Accept students in your clinic/facility for their clinical affiliations. This is a great way to see and secure a future practitioner. Many of our students are offered jobs before they graduate and have many choices once completed. Contact the department today and ask for the clinical fieldwork coordinator.
-
Accept prospective students in your clinic/facility to observe your profession. Be a positive role model in their quest to find their professional niche. Provide positive experiences and feedback while they are there.
Hiring employers can attract grads by...
- Offering incentives when hiring to help capture attention. Perks are worthwhile including tuition paybacks, housing, moving allowances, and other incentives are common.
- Offering educational perks. Pay memberships in professional associations or licensure fees, or offer continuing education tuition benefits. Encourage higher educational degrees.
- Keeping employees active in state and national professional associations. Professional associations usually offer annual conventions where practitioners are able to get new and useful information that will benefit your facility and clients.
- Offering to help with obtaining certifications in specialties within your profession.
- Recruiting at our annual job fair (October). Contact kwestphal@llu.edu for more information.
Practitioners/alumni can
- Assist with local promotion of and recruitment into your profession within your community. (Present at school career days, promote at work with interested persons, write articles, and attend community events.)
- Refer interested prospective students to the web to research the profession and educational opportunities or refer them directly to our school at alliedhealth@llu.edu.
