RTMR 376 Mammography Board Exam Prep (2)
The basics of mammography, including the following areas: equipment, patient education and assessment, anatomy, and physiology and pathology of the breast. Techniques and technical factors in mammography, positioning and image evaluation, and quality control. Prepares students for ARRT or California board examination in mammography.
RTMR 377 Mammography Affiliation (1)
Clinical experience required prior to sitting for the ARRT (M) examination. Students work with an affiliate to complete competencies specific to mammography.
This is an online two-unit course with a one-unit clinical course.
Each student must seek a clinical sight for this course. Please contact the course instructor regarding questions or assistance.
Students are responsible for securing their own clinical site. Students need to understand that most facilities are more inclined to allow them to do their clinical rotation there IF they already work there and are ARRT(R) certified (e.g. cross training in mammo).
The one unit for clinical is two-fold: To provide students with the tracking mechanism for the required sign-offs for ARRT(M) exam (state does not require this), and for someone on the LLU campus (Brenda) to guide them (along with Renee, the instructor) in answering questions regarding the tracking of their paperwork for National ARRT(M) exam.
This is a non-degree student type of course offered to female radiologic technologists who are interested in specializing in mammography. You must be a licensed/registered technologist, or a recent graduate from the A.S. in Medical Radiography at LLU who is working on your license/registration.
Registration is from August 25-September 15. Registration ends on Monday, September 15, at 11:59 p.m.
Register by using the LLU Non Degree Information & Application
Financial aid is not available for these courses.
