RTSI 364 CT Procedures and Patient Care - 2 units

RTSI 971 Special Imaging Affiliation- 2 units

RTSI 367 Cross Sectional Anatomy - 2 units

Total 6 units

Winter Quarter

RTSI 369 CT Physics I - 2 units

RTIS 971 Special Imaging Affiliation II - 2 units

Total 4 units

Spring Quarter

RTSI 361 MRI Physics I - 2 units

RTSI 971 Special Imaging Affiliation III - 2 units

Total 4 units

Summer Quarter

RTSI 362 MRI Physics II-  2 units

RTSI 366 MRI Procedures and Patient Care - 2 units

RTSI 971  Special Imaging Affiliation- 2 units

Total 6 units

Program Requirements

  • Current ARRT Registry in Radiation Technology (RT)
  • Current California (CRT) license
  • Current CPR Card with the American Heart Association.
  • A minimum GPA of 2.5 must be maintained in all didactic and clinical coursework. Each student must complete all clinical requirements and class work, including assignments, quizzes, and exams.

Observation Experience
A minimum of twelve (12) hours of career observation in CT and MRI is required respectively.

Application Enrollment Period

Applications are accepted starting in January of each year. May 1 is the application deadline.

Be sure your application is complete to include a statement of purpose, application fee, three recommendations and transcripts. Official transcripts must come directly from the school to our Admissions Office.

Interviews

Interview are conducted towards the end of May. All applicants will be interviewed by the program director and representatives of the school of Allied Health Professions. If you reside in Southern California you should plan for a personal interview. You will be notified by phone or e-mail of your interview time and date.

The interviews are rated in the following four areas:

a. Work experience or training background

b. Recommendations

c. Academic background

d. Communication skills, knowledge, motivation, etc.

Selection of Applicants

After all applicants have been interviewed, the selection committee for the CT and MRI programs meets to make the final selections. Selections are usually decided by the middle of June and confirmation of each decision is mailed to the respective applicant from the Office of Admissions for the School of Allied Health Professions.

Financial Information

The CT program is full-time for each quarter. The cost for the CT program is subject to change. Since this is a certificate program through the School of Allied Health Professions financial aid is not available. Please contact the Student Financial Aid Office at (909) 558-4509 if you have specific questions.

The MRI program is full-time for each quarter. The cost for the MRI program is subject to change. Since this is a certificate program through the School of Allied Health Professions. Financial aid is not available. Please contact the Student Financial Aid Office at (909) 558-4509 if you have specific questions.

Background Checks

Students are required to have a background check, as part of their application.

Timetables

Fall quarter starts at the end of September.  Application deadline is May 1. Interviews start the end of May with acceptance notification by the end of June.
