Mission:
The mission of the Department of Counseling and Family Sciences is to facilitate wholeness by promoting health, healing, and hope to individuals, families, and communities through education, research, professional training, community service, and global outreach.
Vision:
The vision of the Department of Counseling and Family Sciences is to transform relationships: relationship to one's self and relationships with others. It does so by providing quality behavioral health services to children, adults, couples, families, and groups. By viewing problems in terms of strengths, limitations, and developmental next steps, the staff assists people to resolve concerns such as couple disharmony, less than satisfying family relationships; grief, loss, depression, anger, and other adjustments to life transitions. In additional to licensed faculty and graduate-level marriage and family therapists, the department also provides counselors, child life specialists, and family life educators to provide a broad range of treatment opportunities
