Admissions criteria
Admission to the program is governed by the policies and procedures established by the School of Behavioral Health. To be accepted into the program, applicants are required to have completed a graduate degree in the physical or biological sciences or to be concurrently enrolled in a graduate science program in biochemistry, microbiology, or biology at Loma Linda University. Applicants who are currently enrolled in another Loma Linda University program should consult with their program adviser when applying.
Application procedure
Potential applicants may receive general admissions information from the School of Behavioral Health office of admissions. Requests for specific information about the program should be directed to the Department of Social Work and Social Ecology's admissions coordinator. Application packets are free and include a letter of introduction, Virtual Tour of LLU DVD, program fact sheet, course advisement guide and general information. Regular status is given to applicants when all of the following conditions are met:
In these cases where an admissions decision has not been made and is deferred to a later time, the admissions committee of the department provides deferred applicants in writing with a list of the additional requirements that must be met before a decision can be reached.
Denied status is given when an applicant receives an admissions score below the minimum required for acceptance into the program as provisional or deferred status and/or the delineation of scholastic improvement options is considered to be substantial and suggest unreasonable hardship for the applicant.
