Background
Hi! My name is Sandy Suarez, and I am an Assistant Professor at Loma Linda University in the Department of Social Work and Social Ecology.
I received my undergraduate degree in social work from La Sierra University in Riverside, CA followed by a master’s degree in Social Work from Loma Linda University. Additionally, I hold a license as a clinical social worker in the state of California.
Currently, I teach courses in the MSW program including Foundation Practice with Groups, Interventions with the Chronically Mentally Ill and Advanced Professional Practicum and Seminar: Clinical Concentration.
My professional experience includes working as a clinician in the field of developmental disabilities, behavioral health, and forensic social work.
My personal dedication to community service has been a lifelong endeavor and ranges from local to international work. My most recent community involvement has been my active membership in the Loma Linda University International Behavioral Health Trauma Team, which has taken me to Central and South America.
