ABOUT US
The Community-Academic Partners in Service (CAPS) office serves as the main hub for all LLU students, faculty, and staff who want to serve and learn in the local San Bernardino community. We do this by offering programs such as mentoring, music lessons, tutoring, health education classes, and much more. CAPS also acts as the portal for community-based organizations seeking University support (click LLU in the Community to learn more). Our office encourages all forms of community engagement including direct service, volunteering, service-learning, community-based research, philanthropy, and advocacy. We offer a variety of programs and services to connect LLU students, faculty, staff, and alumni through partnerships with the community. To find out how you can get involved, click Volunteer.
We are committed to:
Mission Connecting LLU students, faculty and staff's passion for service and academics in partnership with the local community in mutually beneficial and sustainable ways.
Vision We envision a world where all people are united through Christ's love and compassion, starting right here in our community, by providing a bridge between Loma Linda and the Inland Empire.
We offer programs such as Goal 4 Health Soccer League, My Campus: Minority Youth Pipeline, Kids ROCK, and many more through partnerships with LLU student/faculty led organizations such as the Healthy Neighborhoods Projects.
Ultimately, CAPS strives to continuously connect LLU and the community through sustained partnerships that enhance student learning and address the needs of the community. We welcome your input and always appreciate hearing from you!
Empowering our community in collaboration with Him.
