MY CAMPUS: MINORITY YOUTH HEALTH PIPELINE
Loma Linda University values diversity in the health professions and is committed to increasing the opportunities to be exposed to the health professions for minority youth in our local community. CAPS is launching a year long, once a quarter, mentoring program with the support of the Institute for Community Partnerships and their student clubs ALAS and BHPSA this year. The main goal is to give youth opportunities to connect with mentors, inspire them to pursue college education and eventually enter the health professions.
High School students will be exposed to a different health professions each quarter and get the chance to see firsthand what health professionals do. The event includes presentations, activities, dinner and a round-robin session where high school students can interact with Loma Linda University students.
