
HNP - Healthy Neighborhood Projects
The Healthy Neighborhoods Projects are a student-run initiative, composed of 8 different programs that address the educational, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of San Bernardino, with a focus on the SACHS Norton community, its youth, and their families.
Mission Statement: The purpose of the Healthy Neighborhood Projects is to build collaborative relationships between LLU students/faculty and the San Bernardino community, with a focus on the Norton community, its youth (K-12 students) and their families, by increasing their awareness and access to educational and health resources for a mutually beneficial approach to teaching, learning and improving health outcomes and eliminating health disparities among residents.
Long-term Goal: To improve health outcomes and provide ongoing educational and health resources for families within the San Bernardino community, with a focus on the Norton area, as well as to establish a communication loop between parents, students and teachers.
The Healthy Neighborhoods Projects consist of 7 programs that are conducted at area schools or at the SACHS La Escuelita Norton Clinic
