     ► Digital Education Task Force (DETF)
  
    Charge: Formed in 2011, the DETF is charged for six months to determine LLU's needs for digital and distance education. In so doing, the task force proposes to produce a digital education academic strategic plan that will include the following and other items as needed:
  • SWOT analysis and recommendations on:
    • Infrastructure (technology, software and learning management system, and policies and procedures)
    • Digital education support and training
    • Distance education policies
  • Analysis and recommendations for desired online academic programs
  • Analysis and recommendations for a third party development partner (if it is decided to use one)
  • Review of existing online programs
  • Recommend strategies to implement Mission-focused learning
 
  ► Distance Learning Committee (DLC)  
The DLC has been charged by the DETF to analyze the University's need for distance education policies and to develop proposed policies. It has many other responsibilities as well, so explore its site to learn more!
  ► Learning and Technology Committee (LTC)
 
    Charge:
  • Review proposals for distance education programs on the integration and use of technology to support student learning outcomes in conjunction with the Distance Learning Committee.
    • Update new program proposal template with technology support items.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and advise faculty on effective use of education technology.
  • Arrange in-service learning opportunities for faculty in the use of technology in learning.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, advise and encourage the acquisition and appropriate use of equipment and software to support learning activities.
    • Evaluate and make recommendations on the electronic campus resources and tutorials for students, staff and faculty.
    • Share technologies and best practices from the schools.
    • Evaluating new technologies and interfacing with vendors to make appropriate recommendations.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and advise regarding the use of smart classrooms, laboratories, etc., which provide technology for use in learning activities.
