Introduction To promote educational effectiveness at Loma Linda University, eight student learning outcomes were developed in August 2007. These outcomes describe what students' knowledge, skills or attitudes should be by the end of the program.
The Student Learning Outcomes Committee (SLOC) researched and selected the AAC&U rubrics for assessment, and the University Assessment and Educational Effectiveness Committees approved them. Because one size simply does not fit all, the SLOC developed a strategy for programs to contextualize the rubrics and therefore make them appropriate for their discipline and level.
