SLO 6 - Technology Students demonstrate effective use of technology appropriate
to the discipline. Introduction to Technology for LLU
Technology skills--both academic and professional--should be developed by all LLU students appropriate for their level and discipline. These skills include learning 'how to learn' a new technology and how to transfer concepts from one technology to another. Because programs' technology expectations for students vary widely depending on the level and discipline, the "LLU Technology" rubric has been kept very simple. Some may say it is even too simple; however, the goal is to allow each program to identify both the academic and professional technology skills they expect their students to achieve before graduation. Some programs do not have professional skills, so they will not have to assess something they do not have as a profession/discipline. These programs should make note of this in their 2011 SLO assessment reports
Using this rubric will help the programs, schools, and university to know how well students have learned the required technology skills for their programs. This information will be useful at every level.
If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Marilyn Eggers (meggers@llu.edu).
