Aerobics Class Descriptions

The classes listed below are typically offered at various times during the year.  

BATs: This toning class targets the buns, abs, and thighs with a variety of exercises that will challenge every fitness level.  BATs is suitable for anyone looking to tone, tighten, and strengthen all of their major muscle groups.

Basic Interval Training: While designed for Seniors, this class is beneficial for all fitness levels. The class combines aerobic floor work with free weight training, alternating the two and creating a great workout for all of the muscles.

Boot Camp: This fun, fast, and athletically challenging class works your entire body.  A hard-core mix of circuit weight training and cardio sports drills, Boot Camp is appropriate for all fitness levels and will get you going!

Chair Aerobics: This class is full of high energy and fun.  Designed for participation while sitting.  Light weights and therabands are used to increase strength.

H2O-4-Every-1: This is a low-impact water aerobics class for everyone to join in.  Enjoy the sunshine while burning those calories!

Health and Fitness in Pregnancy Water Aerobics Class: A combination of low-impact aerobics, toning exercises, and stretching for all stages of pregnancy.  No swimming experience is needed.

Hip-Hop Aerobics: This class is a funky version of low-impact aerobics and is sure to get your feet "grooving" and your heart pumping.

Kickboxing: This high-intensity, fast-moving class is a complete body workout!  Get ready to burn calories as you run, jab, punch, and kick your way through this hour of fun.

Low-impact Step Aerobics: This class offers Seniors an alternate aerobic workout by using a series of basic step combinations with the step platforms to add variety to the cardiovascular workout.  Muscle conditioning and a relaxing stretch are included in this hour.

Pilates: Become stronger and more flexible without bulking up.  Pilates concentrates on using fewer but more controlled movements to develop the body uniformly.

Power Yoga: This is an exciting blend of traditional Yoga movement and modern exercise science designed to burn fat, build strength, improve flexibility, and reduce stress. Although low-impact, it will make you work up a sweat!

Quick Spin: This half-hour is a perfect lunchtime workout!  It's a power-packed ride on a stationary bike which will burn calories!  Appropriate for all levels.  Sign up in advance to reserve a bike, and come for the ride!

Revolution: This class offers a low-impact, high-intensity workout using our stationary cycles.  Go at you own pace or stay with the instructor.  Revolution is appropriate for those at beginning, intermediate, or advanced fitness levels and ability ($3 fee per class).

Salsa Aerobics: Designed for people with little or no salsa dance experience.  Learn the fundamentals of salsa rhythm and footwork.  Come join the fun and burn some calories while you're at it!

Silver Fox Aerobics: The Beginning/Intermediate Aerobics class uses low-impact movements and emphasizes aerobic fitness, flexibility, strength, balance, and posture, while the Intermediate/Advancement Aerobics class is more intense.

Step & Sculpt: This intermediate intensity class employs step aerobics and sculpting for those looking to tone and reshape their total body.

Stretch & Strength: This stretch class will improve balance, posture, and flexibility.  This class is appropriate for levels and will help you relax and become more flexible.  Light weights and therabands are used to increase strength.

Tone & Moan: This class focuses on seniors and is designed to tone the overall body with a low-impact approach.

TBC (Total Body Conditioning): Weight training class designed for all levels, including a FULL body workout.

Total Body Workout: Using low-impact movements, this class emphasizes aerobic fitness, flexibility, strength, balance, and posture.

Walking Class: Get your blood pumping while you walk with a motivational group of friends.  This class meets at the indoor track and burns calories while having fun.

Water Aerobics: This workout is low-impact and of moderate intensity designed to give you a unique way to exercise while having fun.

Yoga/Stretch Relax: This gentle, invigorating workout incorporates toning, stretching, and posture-strengthening techniques from Yoga, Pilates, and dance conditioning.

Zumba: This class features interval training sessions, toning and sculpting your body with resistance training.  Burn fat with some Latin flavor and international zest - ditch the workout, and join the party!
