Emergencies
In case of an emergency dial 911. You will be assisted immediately by a security dispatcher. In addition, campus parking lots contain clearly marked emergency phones. These phones ring directly to the security department control center in the basement of the Medical Center. You may use these phones to contact security in an emergency or for non-emergency services and assistance.
Security escort service
Security officers provide escort for students, patients, visitors, and employees to any destination on campus during night hours and in special situations as may be required. Call extension 44320 for a security escort. If you choose not to use a security escort, use the buddy system and always walk with a friend; never walk alone after dark.
Non-emergency service
Security officers provide the following non-emergency services as time allows:
Lost and found
Calls for lost and found articles should be made to Medical Center dispatch services at extension 44350 during normal business hours. University housekeeping also provides a lost and found service for the campus. Their extension is 42049.
Reporting suspicious activity
In order to make the University and Medical Center a safe community in which to live, study, and work, it is essential that all suspicious persons or activities on campus be reported to the department of security at extension 44320.
Vehicles
The department of security is responsible for enforcing the Loma Linda University traffic and parking regulations and the State of California Vehicle Code, as they apply to moving and stationary vehicles, pedestrians, and animals on the campus. The Loma Linda University traffic and parking regulations are enforced under Section 21113 of the California Vehicle Code.

A complete copy of the Loma Linda University traffic and parking regulations is available from the department of security or the office of the dean of student affairs.
California state laws
California state laws required that all residents who operate a vehicle and have a California state driver's license and any vehicle they own within the State of California must be registered with the California DMV.
Resident
?Resident? means any person who manifests an intent to live or be located in this state on more than a temporary or transient basis. Presence in the state for six months or more in any 12-month period gives rise to a refutable presumption of residency.
The following are evidence of residency for purposes of vehicle registration:
a. address where registered to vote
b. location of employment or place of business
c. payment of resident tuition at a public institution of higher education.
d. attendance of dependents at a primary or secondary school
e. filing a homeowner's property tax exemption
f. renting or leasing home for use as a residence
g. declaration of residency to obtain a license or any other privilege or benefit not ordinarily extended to a nonresident
h. possession of a California driver's license
i. other acts, occurrences, or events that indicate presence in the state is more than temporary or transient
