New Grad Nursing Opportunities
Loma Linda University Medical Center offers excellent new grad training opportunities. With the only Level One Trauma Center in the area, and the only Children’s Hospital in the Inland Empire, we provide an extensive range of options for training and development.

Nursing: Adult New Grad Program
Program Features

• Paid training program with benefits
• Trained preceptors for intensive clinical experiences
• Individualized orientation to related hospital areas
• Core & Specialty Classes

Available Areas and Length of Training

• Acute Care -- 8-10 week program
• Intermediate – 10-12 week program
• ICU -- 15 week program
• Specialty Areas (based on availability) – 15-30 week programs

Nursing: Pediatrics RN Residency Program at
Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital

This innovative 16-week (approximately 630 hours) program is designed for new graduate RNs and facilitates the transition from nursing student to professional nurse. Participants will master the challenges of working with acutely ill infants and children in a high technology environment.

Program Features

• 16-week paid residency with benefits
• Approximately 75% of program devoted to precepted clinical experience (over 450   hours)
• Approximately 25% of program devoted to classroom and skills lab education
• Trained preceptors for intensive clinical experiences
• Dedicated mentors for career planning and development
• Individualized orientation to related hospital areas
• Professional debriefing groups for personal support

Specialty Focus Areas Include:

• Pediatric ICU
• Neonatal ICU
• Pediatric Acute Care
• Hematology / Oncology / Stem Cell Transplant ICU
• Pediatric Intermediate ICU

Nursing: Rehabilitation Residency at new state-of-the-art
Rehabilitation Pavilion

This innovative 18 week program is ideal for individuals entering the field of rehabilitative nursing and facilitates the transition from student to working professional RN. Participants will master the challenges of working with acute rehabilitation patients at our new and state-of-the art Tom & Vi Zapora Rehabilitation Pavilion.

Program Features

• 18-week paid residency program
• Majority of time devoted to precepted clinical experience supplemented with additional   classroom and skills lab education
• Expert preceptors for intensive clinical experiences
• Dedicated mentors for career planning and development
• Individualized orientation to related hospital areas

Specialty Focus Areas Include:

• Traumatic Brain Injury
• Spinal Cord Injury
• Adolescent Rehabilitation
• Stroke
• Amputees

Summer Business Internship &
Management Residency Programs

Loma Linda is now offering a number of different Summer Business Internships and Management Residency Programs. These opportunities give Business, Communications, or related field students and graduates the chance to explore how our facility functions from the inside out. Each program provides hands-on training and weekly mentoring from members of our staff.

The selected candidates are placed in the areas of their specialty throughout our campus including Loma Linda University Medical Center, Children’s Hospital, Loma Linda University, Physicians Group, East Campus, and Health Services.

Application dates run from approximately December 1 through March 1, with interviews beginning soon after.

Summer Business Internship Program

This 12-week program is designed for Seventh-day Adventist students entering their junior or senior year with at least a 3.0 GPA and who are interested in exploring career paths in management within the healthcare industry. Candidates who have graduated within 12 months of the start of the internship will also be considered. For the chosen candidate, the start date is linked to the end of their respective school year.

The information below reflects the pay and benefits for the Summer Business Internship

• Wage will be $14.00/hourly - non benefit.
• If relocation is over 50 miles to Loma Linda, CA for the Internship program, we will   reimburse travel expenses up to $500.00, once we receive receipts.
• If relocation is necessary and the Intern does not have housing within a 50 mile radius   of Loma Linda, we will reimburse housing costs, after we receive receipts, for a   maximum of $650.00/monthly and for 3 months only.
• If the daily commute during the 12 week Internship is 50 miles or more one way, we   will reimburse, upon receipts, up to $500.00.

Management Residency Program

This two-year residency program is designed to develop the knowledge and skills, both personally and professionally, of Seventh-day Adventist graduates who are interested in a management career in the health care industry. All residents will obtain hands on experience in key Loma Linda business departments.

SDA candidates must have graduated within the last 12 months from an accredited institution with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or related field with at least a 3.0 GPA. Candidates must be willing to enroll full-time in an MBA program during the two-year residency. Masters’ level students will also be considered.

The information below reflects the pay and benefits for the
Management Residency Programs

• The salary will be $41,841.60/annually with full benefits.
• Medical benefits begin after 30 days and the rest of the benefits after 90 days.
• If relocation is necessary, we will reimburse   up to $3000.00, with receipts.
• If Resident is beginning or already enrolled in a MBA Program, we will reimburse what   the Loma Linda University MBA Program costs.
