Loma Linda University Medical Center

LLU Medical Center Loma Linda University Medical Center, site of the world's first hospital-based proton beam accelerator for cancer treatment (Proton Treatment Center), has grown to nearly 900 beds with the opening of the Children's Hospital in late 1993. Three circular towers, built in a clover-leaf design, allow easy access to patients from a central nursing station. The proton beam accelerator, located in the southwest wing, is the only one of its kind based in a hospital setting and primarily used for patient treatment.

Several helicopter pads can be viewed from the seventh floor. As you exit the main elevator, look through the window to the far right to see one of them.

Before entering patient areas, check with the nursing staff. Additional information is available by stopping by the media and public relations office, located in the hospital lobby, or by calling them at (909) 558-4419.
