Have you ever dreamt of floating down the Amazon River? Now is your chance! Not only will you travel on the second longest river in the world, be amongst the largest tropical rainforest that provides 20% of the world's oxygen, take once-in-a-lifetime photos of animals and foliage, you will have an amazing opportunity to meet and change the lives of the local people that live along the Amazon River.
Join Loma Linda University Student Activities and Students for International Mission Service (SIMS) on a mission trip that will change your life. We partner with Social Action Volunteers of the Amazon (ASVAM), a non-profit organization through the Adventist Conference in Manaus, Brazil. With this group we connect with local Brazilian doctors and dentists and are able to provide much needed healthcare to indigenous people along the Amazon and Rio Negro. Volunteers will also help lead Vacation Bible School, play with hundreds of children, give health talks, lead worship in the local villages, and much more.
