July 10, 2011 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Throughout pre–professional school, students seldom have the opportunity to sample possible careers with firsthand experience. Dentistry is a unique profession that combines the art of healing with cutting edge technology.
The Careers in Dentistry (CID) Workshop, held each July, provides an opportunity to visit and spend several days within LLUSD. During the workshop, students participate in seminars given by faculty from multiple departments, shadow students in the clinic and spend time in the laboratory developing hand skills.
How to Apply
Apply April 1 through May 15.
Complete the application form and return along with a check payable to LLUSD.
Current TB test within 12 months is required.
Workshop is limited to 70 participants and is usually filled before the deadline, so apply early.

A: The workshop is $150 per person, plus housing if needed.
This program is designed to promote dental education for African American, Hispanic and Native Americans. Topics will focus on why dentistry is an excellent career choice, how to get into a dental or dental hygiene program and how to finance your education.
Participants will hear alumni share their personal stories of success. Current dentistry and dental hygiene students will be available to share their personal journey to dental school, answer questions and admissions advice will be given.
