| SYNOPSIS |
|
This course will review the most common and most important lesions likely to be encountered in a general dental practice. Emphasis will be placed on recognizing the clinical features most helpful in differentiating one lesion from another. Current treatment of these conditions will also be discussed. This course is designed for the dentist, dental hygienist and dental assistant. |
| OBJECTIVES |
| The objective of this course is to provide the practical information needed to recognize, diagnose and treat oral lesions in the dental office. Some of the issues that will be addressed are: • What do you do with white or red lesions? • What pigmented lesions should you be concerned about? • How to differentiate aphthous lesions from herpes lesions. • How to diagnose and treat lichen planus. • How to differentiate between the lumps and bumps you see in the oral cavity. • How to develop a differential of ulcerative and blistering conditions. • How to identify less common, but serious, lesions. • How to apply adjunct diagnostic methods for lesion evaluation. • How to diagnose the variety of bony lesions you are likely to encounter |
