| SYNOPSIS |
| Direct composite resins occupy an important role in the esthetic treatment of dental patients. New advances in materials and equipment as well as new conservative restorative techniques provide the dentist with a wide variety of highly esthetic solutions to the cosmetic challenges presented by patients. To achieve excellence with direct resin restorations, the operator must be aware of what is available, understand the philosophy behind the changes, and know the limitations of the new technologies and materials. Dr. Denehy’s lecture will address these issues, and provide proper guidance for incorporating new concepts into practice. Expanded applications will be described for utilization of direct resins in a variety of situations. Dr. Goodacre’s lecture will discuss key aspects related to optimally accurate records that can then be used by the company to produce the prostheses will be discussed, including edentulous anatomy, impression procedures, occlusal vertical dimension recording, interocclusal records, and the fabrication process. |
