Biographical Synopsis
Michael R. Meharry, DDS
Michael Meharry was born in Everett, Washington. He moved to Alberta, Canada with his parents at the age of 15, and graduated from high school in Lacombe, Alberta from Parkview Adventist Academy. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Arts from Loma Linda University La Sierra campus in June 1976 and then completed his DDS degree at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in California in 1980. He was elected as a member to the Chi Chi Chapter of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental society upon graduation there.
Upon graduation After 20 years of private practice of general dentistry in Calgary, Alberta Canada, Dr. Meharry accepted a call to serve as co-director of a medical-dental mission clinic at the Palau SDA Clinic in Koror, Republic of Palau, in Micronesia. In May of 2003 Dr. Michael Meharry returned to North America and accepted a position of Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He served there as a clinical group leader and service learning assistant.
From July 2006 to May 2008 Dr. Meharry attended the Operative Dentistry Residency program at the University of Iowa and received his Masters Degree and Certificate in Operative Dentistry. Upon completion of the Masters Degree in Operative Dentistry, Dr. Meharry returned to a full time faculty position at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. In July of 2008, he completed the Certification exam for the American Board of Operative Dentistry and was inducted as the 69th member of the American Board of Operative Dentistry in February of 2009 and received advancement to Associate Professor July 2009.
Dr Michael Meharry is a member of the American Dental Society, California Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of Operative Dentistry, the International and American Associations for Dental Research, and American Dental Education Association.
Dr. Michael Meharry and His wife Myra have 6 children and 4 grandchildren and reside in Moreno Valley, California.
