Faculty, Staff and Student comments:
-- Working at the School of Dentistry has provided a sense of purpose outside of my own and my family's needs. Clinical practice is rewarding, but the number of people you meet and get to know here at school every year is very exciting.
-- I think LLUSD has some great faculty members. Their openness, helpfulness, and pleasant attitude have made my education a very positive experience. I know that the students are kept in mind when deciding on curriculum and course outlines that would benefit us and I appreciate that.
-- I am most proud of the School of Dentistry's service to its communities and respect for all who work and study here. It shows a picture of God, dim at times (we are human) but unfailing.
-- I have been able to make a difference in people's smile, self-confidence, and overall health through my association with LLUSD. It's a gratifying service to provide for others because you can usually see the fruits of your labor in a short period of time. This is good for both the dentist and the patient.
-- LLUSD is a home away from home. People smile and say hi in the hallways; the staff present a caring attitude to our students; the faculty for the most part love interacting with the students--keeps us young at heart and learning every day.
-- By attending LLUSD my life has not merely been changed but, more appropriately, it has been shaped. As I look back over the last few years at how much I have learned and been exposed to, it is incredible. The study of dentistry is much more than anatomy of a tooth or tolerances of a crown prep. It is watching those professors around you in how they treat patients. Learning how to be a professional. This is how my life has been shaped by attending LLUSD I am becoming a professional provider.
-- I enjoy more and more the teaching/learning/service environment. It is a privilege to be here, and to see the satisfaction our school gives to its patients, and to hear from our graduates the absolute appreciation they have for their LLUSD education.
-- I am proud we've been able to maintain our Christ-centered focus in educating new dental professionals for more than 50 years now. That’s a true God-given accomplishment with our changing world views and these harsh economic times.
-- To be a part of something greater than the sum of its parts is humbling and also very precious. I appreciate it so much. I am more at peace in myself and also love challenges now more than I would have before.
-- I chose to come to LLUSD for my education because I love the feel of the campus; everyone is so friendly and you can tell that both the faculty and other students are rooting for your success. It feels like home. Also LLUSD offers more clinical experience and less research which was very appealing to me.
-- I came to LLUSD for an edge on the clinical experience which includes the unique opportunities that mission trips provide.
-- I have many great memories mostly because of the great classmates and faculty. The class of 2011 has a lot of character that most, if not all. professors and administrators enjoy. When everyone is excited, smiling, and clapping for no particular reason, it's a special moment. This tends to happen with some frequency.
