  • Purpose of the library
The Del E. Webb Memorial Library's mission is to provide for the information needs of the constituents of Loma Linda University, a Seventh-day Adventist health sciences institution. In addition, the Del E. Webb Memorial Library is a Resource Library for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine TM (NN/LM TM) the purpose of which is to provide health science practitioners, investigators, educators, and administrators in the United States with timely, convenient access to biomedical and health care information resources.
  • Primary clientele
Our primary clientele are the constituents of Loma Linda University/Medical Center, including students, faculty and staff. This group has first priority in use of library resources. Most of the computer workstations in the library are reserved for primary clientele. Primary clientele may request free literature searches.
  • Area health professionals
As a resource library we have an additional responsibility to provide information resources to area health professionals. This group is also welcome to use the public computer workstations. There is a 30 minute time limit when others are waiting. Area health professionals may purchase a Friends of the Library Card from the circulation desk to check out a maximum of three books at a time from our library.
  • General public
Beyond these groups, our Library is open to the general public and we wish to provide support for meeting the information needs of all serious researchers in the community. Any adult from the general public may use the Library. The public computer workstations may be used. There is a 30 minute time limit when others are waiting. Members of the general public may purchase a Friends of the Library Card from the circulation desk to check out a maximum of three books at a time from our library.
  • Students from other colleges
The statements above under General Public apply here as well. Students from nearby colleges who have with them an IEALC card, obtained from their home library, may check out a maximum of three books at a time from our library.
  • Secondary school students
Secondary students may use the Library when:
    1. they are accompanied at all times by a parent or other responsible adult
