How do I register for classes?
Medical Center employees whose department will pay for the course: register online at the OWL Portal.
Students, volunteers, employees needing reimbursement or non-employees: required to pay the course fees. Register and pay at the CE Portal with a credit or debit card.
LLUHS or LLUHC employees: contact Brandi Benak at 909-558-2550 prior to registration.
Loma Linda VA employees: contact Raquel Rodriquez at 909-825-7084 to enroll.
Where can we park?
You are able to park in Lot X or Shepardson Lot.
What payment methods are accepted for books, cards and other items at your office?
Only cash or checks are accepted.
What is your Cancelling or Rescheduling Policy?
A 5 business day notice is required for full Refunds, Cancellations, and Re-scheduling of Classes. If less than a 5 business day notice is given, then a $25.00 processing fee applies for ACLS, PALS and NRP classes. There is a $10.00 processing fee for cancelling PEARS, ECG & Pharmacology, BLS, Heartsaver CPR and First Aid. Rescheduling a class is $40 for advanced classes (ACLS, PALS) and $20 for all others. NO REFUNDS for NO SHOWS
Do I get CEU/CME/ICEMA credits?
California Medical Association (CME), California Board of Nursing (CEU), and Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency (ICEMA) have approved ACLS, PALS, and NRP Provider Courses for 12 units and ACLS and PALS Renewal Courses for 6 units. PEARS has been approved for 8 CE Units. No CE Units are available for BLS and First Aid courses. CME Category 1. CEP No. 100403. California CEP No. 62-0004.
Are the books required for the classes?
Books are required for attending all American Heart Association (AHA) courses. Married couples are allowed to share manuals. Books are for sale in our office for the classes we currently offer. See our Price Sheet for book costs.
I lost my card; what do I do?
Call us at 909-558-4977 to request a replacement card. The cost for a BLS card replacement is $10 and $16 for an advanced class (ACLS, PALS, NRP) card. Payment must be received before your replacement card is printed.

What if I arrive late?
Class starts promptly at the scheduled times. Anyone late by more than 15 minutes will be asked to re-schedule.

How can I avoid failing?
Read the required book for the course you are completing prior to class. Completing the self assessment for advanced courses may be helpful as well. Refer to your student book for the website and code to access the self assessment.
What cards are accepted?
Only current American Heart Association cards are accepted.
When should I schedule to take a class?
Register a month before class date to ensure availability of course.
When do I get my cards?
Upon successful completion of course, your AHA card will be given.
When do I get my refund?
If you registered on the CE Portal, contact Staff Development to process a refund. For check or cash refunds, a refund check will be mailed within 4-6 weeks after coming into our office and filling out a refund form.
What do I need to bring to class?
On the day of class, bring the current book for the course you are taking. Books are available at our office. If you are enrolled in an update course, you must bring your current AHA cards to class.
What is the difference between a Provider course and an Update course?
A Provider course is for anyone who has not previously taken any life support classes. If you have a current AHA card that is expiring soon, register for the Update course to renew your cards. However if your cards are more than thirty (30) days expired, you must register for a Provider course.
