About the center...
The Center for Health Promotion has been providing preventive medicine services to the Southern California community for over two decades. Clients include individuals from the community, employee groups, and members of health plans. The center offers health promotion and education, lifestyle intervention, medical care, immunizations, addiction recovery, health testing and screening, and personalized health prescriptions with action plans. Preventive care services are provided by the center's interdisciplinary medical team, the Loma Linda Preventive Medicine Medical Group, Inc., associated with the Loma Linda Faculty Medical Group, Inc., School of Public Health, and the School of Medicine of Loma Linda University.
Current research studies being conducted at the center include genetic markers related to obesity, investigating cardiac lifestyle interventions for patients with heart disease, and clinical cost effectiveness of preventive intervention. The research is often conducted in conjunction with other Loma Linda University and Loma Linda University Medical Center departments.
Our goal is to provide quality healthcare to the individual client and community. Our emphasis is placed on the whole person and wellness. We seek to promote a close working relationship between the medical practitioner, health educator, the preventive care specialist, and those who seek our services.
