Services

Seed Money Grants:
Competitive grants up to $10,000 are available. The intent of these grants is to foster research that might eventually lead to extramural funding of larger research projects. The principal investigator must be a School of Public Health Faculty member. Submissions are invited twice a year (March and November).

Travel Assistance:
Assistance for travel expenses to SPH faculty for presentation of faculty member research at professional meetings is available. CHR will provide up to 50% of and a maximum of $500 per faculty member. Funding is on a first-come first-serve basis.

Doctoral Dissertation Expense Reimbursement:
Up to $1,000 reimbursement can be provided for SPH doctoral students for dissertation expenses. Dissertation chairs have to apply on behalf of the students.

Investigator Database:
For each SPH faculty member CHR will:

  1. Create and maintain a NIH bibliographical sketch profile.
  2. Create and maintain an "Other research support" document also according to NIH. Once the detailed CV is received from each faculty, this database will be updated annually with the faculty report.

 

Capacity Building Grant Submission Workgroups:
CHR will encourage interested faculty members to develop a proposal of their interest as part of a working group

Grant Submission Assistance:
CHR will assist faculty members in the application procedures for outside funding based upon time and resource availability.
