Our mission and goal
As we present this future Work of Art,
The Class of Sixty hopes it will impart
The Mission and the Goal that we hold deal
To all who chance to see it displayed here.
May Students who are rushing by this way,
In haste to finish urgent tasks each day
Pause just a moment every now and then
To think of where they're going - where they've been.
As mission trips are planned and carried out,
May in their minds not be a single doubt
That serving God and fellow man is best,
and they can safely leave with God the rest.
May staff who gladly give their energy
To make this School the best that it can be,
Be oft encouraged by this symbol grand
To know they too fulfill God's great command.
May Doctors who have given life to teach
Be too reminded of the lives they reach;
Not only students in their class each week
But future patients who their help will seek!
May every patient who Prince Hall has known -
Who sees this Statue - know love's seed is sown!
And seeing love in actin here each day
Determine to sow love along their way!
May each Alumnus coming back again
To walk the halls once more where they have been,
See in this art their mission clearer still,
And go back home that mission to fulfill.
Without Irene and talent she will lend,
Without unnumbered hours she will spend,
This artwork then a dream will only be,
That none who pass this way will ever see!
So, Thanks Irene, we cannot estimate
What everlasting good will radiate
From those who feel this artwork in their soul -
And help us as we strive to reach -
Our goal
To give our neighbors everywhere
A healthy, happy smile to wear.
To treat each one with Christlike care,
And ease the pain they've had to bear.
To share the Gospel with each one
By all the caring things we've done!
So, Dean Goodacre, please accept this gift.
Though silent, may its message still uplift,
Inspiring us anew to serve mankind
And never to another's need be blind.
