
ANES 521 Principles of Medicine, Physical Diagnosis and Hospital Protocol 2 units
Study of methods recognizing normal and abnormal physical conditions. A review of organ systems will expand the dentist’s general medical knowledge. Specific topics reviewed include blood diseases, systemic diseases, cardiac disease, patient admission, physical exam and hospital charting.
ANES 547 Anesthesia Grand Rounds 1 unit
A weekly meeting of the anesthesia department featuring guest lecturers who present a variety of current and controversial topics in anesthesiology. One session per month is designated as the Mortality and Morbidity Conference.
ANES 548 Anesthesia Residents Seminar 2 units
A comprehensive didactic course designed to cover the entire field of anesthesiology in a two-year cycle. Sectional written examinations are given.
ANES 604 Anesthesia Literature Review 1 unit
A weekly session to review the current anesthesia literature.
ANES 654 Practice Teaching in Anesthesia 1 unit
Supervision of pre- and post-doctoral dental students administering local anesthesia and conscious sedation.
ANES 697 Research 1 unit
Participation in ongoing research or original projects. All clinical research will be reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
ANES 746 General Anesthesia 72 units
Administration of general anesthesia and regional block anesthesia to a variety of medical and dental patients in the operating room under the supervision of attending anesthesiologists. A minimum of 270 clock hours per quarter (8gtrs) are required to fulfill the total units of 72.
RELE 524 Christian Bioethics 3 units
Christian perspectives on ethical issues in health care. Additional project required for fourth unit.
