SYNOPSIS
The purpose of this lecture is to present an updated overview on present possibilities of rehabilitation with implant-supported prostheses of patients presenting with atrophic edentulous ridges.

TOPICS

The following topics will be analyzed:

  • Treatment planning
  • Rationale in choosing among different grafting materials
  • Possibilities and limits of autogenous bone
  • Possibilities and limits of non-autogenous grafting materials
  • Bone harvesting from intraoral sites: surgical procedures and identification/protection of dangerous anatomical structures
  • Management of grafts and soft tissues to optimize results
  • Management of patients during the healing phases
  • Timing of implant placement and prosthetic rehabilitation
  • Results, literature review, and conclusion

This lecture will be supported by videos showing anatomical dissections of cadaver and surgical procedures on real patients.
