Digital Photography Fundamentals for Dental Professionals

SYNOPSIS

This program will consist of a lecture dealing with the basic fundamentals of digital photography and how to incorporate these principles in the field of dentistry. Topics to be covered will include the mechanics of digital cameras, how to establish the correct camera settings for digital dental photography, and the techniques for taking the ideal dental photographic views. Equipment that would be required for digital photography and how to save, store, and edit the photographic images will also be discussed along with a tutorial on displaying digital photographs using PowerPoint. All attendees will also participate in a hands-on workshop taking digital photographs based on the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry required dental views. Finally, these images will be evaluated and reviewed by the entire group.

Attendees will need to bring the following equipment:

  1. Digital SLR camera with 100 - 105 macro lenses and a ring point flash
  2. Retractors, mirrors, and contrastors
  3. Memory card for the camera

This is a limited attendance hands-on workshop.
