SYNOPSIS
Understanding the “why” of behavior is a key to success in the dental office. This program of behavior-related topics will be presented in the context of evidence-based practices. Dr. Sheller will focus on strategies and techniques that will enhance the health care provider’s ability to manage difficult children in positive and constructive ways.  Participants will gain understanding of uncooperative patient behaviors and learn professional and effective responses. Other topics include tips for managing parent expectations in the social climate of 2008, and dental team self-analysis to identify and optimize natural strengths and minimize the impact of inherent weaknesses. Emphasis will be placed on practical information with direct application in the dental office.
