SYNOPSIS

Use of dental lasers is becoming popular among clinicians and dental patients. This symposium is intended to educate the participants on different aspects of clinical dentistry that would benefit from using the lasers. Experts from different parts of the world will be presenting both the science and the clinical applications of dental lasers in endodontics, implantology, operative dentistry, prosthodontics and periodontology. Understanding the biological and physical principles of the laser and the direct clinical applications will make the participants more knowledgeable on laser in dentistry. The speakers will discuss the diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical use of different lasers based on scientific information and clinical experience.


OBJECTIVES:
  • Learn the basic science of dental lasers
  • Recognize different lasers and its specific applications in different branches of dentistry
  • Understand the biological effects of the lasers on the different oral cavity tissues
  • Learn the limitations of dental lasers
  • Understand the biological effects of the lasers on the different oral cavity tissues Learn about indications and contraindications of use of lasers in:
    • endodontics
    • prosthetic dentistry
    • restorative dentistry
    • implant dentistry
    • periodontology

The participants will ultimately understand and learn the biological processes, the indications, and the treatment modalities of different lasers used in dentistry.
