The Advanced Implant Dentistry Study Club

COURSE DESCRIPTION

OBJECTIVES

The advanced implant dentistry course prepares the participant to become competent and knowledgeable in the following categories:

• Grafting protocols
• Radiographic imaging and cone beam imaging interpretation
• Advanced anterior implant esthetics
• Guided bone regeneration
• Maxillary sinus grafting protocols
• Systematic sequential development of advanced treatment planning related to implant dentistry
• Understanding and implementing advanced implant procedures and observing live surgical and prosthodontic demonstrations on patients
• Guided implant surgery

ATTENDEE CRITERIA

1) Each participant will be required to submit a copy of his/her current:

• TB skin tests - no more than 2 years old
• Chest x-rays - no more than 2 years old
• Hepatitis - current titer no more than 1 year old
• CPR card
• Current dental license.

2) Participants will be supervised by Loma Linda University School of Dentistry faculty.

CLINICAL CRITERIA

• Each patient will be a patient-of-record of Loma Linda University School of Dentistry.
• Treatment will be provided according to the graduate student fee schedule.
• Treatment fees will be paid to the oral implantology clinic prior to completion of treatment.
• All scheduling, treatment plans, and financial information will be entered in the LLUSD clinical database by Center for Implant Dentistry staff.
• All remakes, failed implant replacements, and risk charges will be charged back to the Center for Implant Dentistry.
• In case of a risk event, the defense of the participant may have to be borne by their malpractice carrier. In case of a punitive judgment, all costs will be borne by the participant.

COURSE FACULTY

Jaime L. Lozada, DDS
Dr. Lozada is the Director of the Graduate Program in Implant Dentistry and Professor at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Dr. Lozada has been instrumental in training residents and fellows in the latest techniques in oral implant surgery and prosthodontics at the Graduate Program and the Center for Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University, School of Dentistry. Dr. Lozada has been involved with Implant Dentistry for over 20 years. He is an active member of the Academy of Osseointegration, a Fellow and current President of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry.

Tony Daher, DDS, MSEd
Dr. Daher is a Board Certified Prosthodontist and a fellow in the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Daher is currently an Associate Professor and past Director of the Advanced Prosthodontics program at Loma Linda University. Presently he is the co-director of the Loma Linda Advanced Implant Study Club. He lectures nationally and internationally on the subject of prosthodontics. Dr. Tony Daher maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics in LaVerne, California.

Nadim Baba, DMD, MSD
Dr. Baba received his DMD degree from the University of Montréal in 1996. He earned a certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Prosthodontics and a master's degree in Restorative Sciences in Prosthodontics from Boston University School of Dentistry in 1999. At the end of his studies he received the David J. Baraban Award. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He is an active member of the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Academy of fixed Prosthodontics, the International College of Prosthodontists, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, and is Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics.

Joseph Y. Kan, DDS, MS
His honors include the 1997 Best Research Award from the Academy of Osseointegration and the 2003 Judson C. Hickey Scientific Writing Award from the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. He also maintains a private practice limited to prosthodontics and implant surgery. He is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and an associate member of the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontists.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Tuition: $7,500.00

The course fee includes an interactive DVD implant dentistry course, breaks, lunches, and dinner. There will be no refunds after May 1, 2008.
