Faculty and staff from the School of Dentistry recently attended a Quick Recovery User's Meeting at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The interaction between schools is becoming more productive, and the Users group is

definitely getting larger; there were about 30 people in attendance. Representatives from 14 dental schools attended the meeting out of the 16 dental schools that use General Systems Design (GSD). GSD had three representatives who shared valuable information throughout the meeting.

Conference meetings consisted of Power Point presentations and Access Reports. There were five schools which presented sections on Quick Recovery.

Loma Linda presented four sections: Marina Moore presented the "Recall System" at the front-end user level to the back-end level (setup of master files); "How we use N Code," or x-out of a procedure as designed, by Anahid Benzatyan, using day-to-day account management. Carl Imthurn, computer programmer, and Paul L. Richardson, SD'72, associate dean for clinic administration, presented QR Student Reports. Judy Adams went as our local expert on Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Ron Secor, MBA, associate dean for financial administration, went with the group to see areas of software utilization that could be important to the School of Dentistry. Presenters received positive feedback about their presentations. Other schools gave presentations covering: Student Profiles, List Server, HIPAA, Managing the AS400.

General Systems Designs introduced a new module, "Graphical Treatment Plans." This module is currently being tested, and we are looking forward to when this module is ready for deployment. The next Quick Recovery Users Meeting will be held at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and is scheduled for this fall.
