Faculty development
Learn Blackboard! Active online learning course offered to LLU faculty
Faculty may now register for AHCJ 600, Active
online learning, to be held spring quarter, 2002 (April 29 to June
24).
This course, offered totally on-line, will assist faculty in on-line teaching.
The instructors will take you through an eight-week educational experience
that will incorporate standards of excellence in education applied to
the health professional higher education setting for distance/online education.
While taking the course, you will be able to develop a course on LLUs
Blackboard, or develop web-based Blackboard support for a traditional
course. You will also learn how to obtain online assessment data, how
to individualize the course for various student learning styles, how to
incorporate faith into the learning experience, and how to create community
in the online environment.
The content of the course will be taught during an eight-week period,
but you will have the summer and fall quarters, if necessary, to complete
the practical application aspect of the course. Registration will be limited.
Early responses give priority.
