Myron Gottfried shares years of experience with LLUSD students
People who have met Myron Gottfried (SD'76), a general dentist who has practiced in Asheville, North Carolina, since 1977 may think he has a twin if they walk through the main clinic. But students on the Loma Linda campus are benefiting from Dr. Gottfried's 23 years of experience in his field. Currently, he is an instructor in restorative dentistry and prosthodontics. For the past year he has traveled from his home in North Carolina to the School, spending one week per quarter teaching and mentoring the University's dental students. The relationships he is building will go far in his goals as president-elect of National Association of Seventh-day Adventist Dentists (NASDAD). þI would like to expand the membership of NASDAD,ú he says, þand to invite young people in their 20s and 30s, to become active in the organization and its mission.ú NASDAD supports mission projects around the world, focusing on the 72 dental clinics in countries outside of the United States that are run by the Adventist Church. Dr. Gottfried is certain that many Christian dentists are looking for ways to share their talents, and would like to invite Christian dentists from all faiths to become actively involved with the organization. þThis is something provided for in NASDAD bylaws,ú he states. And as Dr. Gottfried teaches and mentors young people in the School of Dentistry who are at the beginning of their careers these goals will certainly be met. Editor's note: Dr. Gottfried is married to Beverly (DH'69). Their daughter, Heather, is now in her second year of medical school at LLU. University |
