The 40th annual Alumni-Student Convention is here, and by now you've noticed the changes. The venue has been moved from the old and dusty Gentry Gym to the new and elegant Coleman Pavilion. Table clinics are in a tent on the lawn (that should bring back memories for some of you old-timers!) and the Thursday evening banquet focuses on alumni and friends of the School.

Art Linkletter will be speaking at the homecoming banquet on Thursday in the Coleman Pavilion at 6:30 p.m. If you haven't already signed up, please contact the Alumni Association office at ext. 44399 or stop by their office in the School of Dentistry, room 1149.

The spiritual highlight for this year's Convention is the student dedication. This ceremony honors those students who have chosen to dedicate their dental education and service to Christ. The freshman dental and junior dental hygiene students will be presented with personalized, leather-bound Bibles. The senior dental and dental hygiene students will receive personalized white coats with the Loma Linda University shield embroidered on the breast.

Dr. Gerald Winslow will be discussing the privileges and responsibilities of a Christian dental health professional. The faculty will be marching in academic regalia to signify their support of the students. Over 500 family members have expressed their intention to participate in this ceremony.

Please join the students and faculty in this inspirational celebration of professional and Christian dedication to the practice of dentistry and dental hygiene at the University Church at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 11.
