Dr. Bonnie Nelson recommended for chair,
department of pediatric dentistry

Bonnie Nelson, SD’88

Bonnie Nelson, SD’88, has been recommended for the position of chair of the department of pediatric dentistry. Dr. Nelson will assume her new responsibilities February 1, 2003.

Dr. Nelson graduated from the School of Dentistry in 1988 and completed her certificate in pediatric dentistry at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1990. She was in private practice in Washougal, Washington, from 1990 until accepting a faculty position in the dental school in 2001. She has been the recipient of professional awards including Omicron Kappa Upsilon, LLUSD Alumni “Student of the Year,” and a Certificate of Merit from the American Society of Dentistry for Children.

She replaces Todd Milledge, SD’88 PG’95, who has served as department chair since January 31, 1997. Dr. Milledge has provided excellent leadership in the department, and will continue to serve the School as a full-time faculty member.
