Alumni-Student Convention to be February
10-14
The School of Dentistry's annual Alumni-Student Convention has reached
its 40-year anniversary this year, and many changes and upgrades are planned,
according to Kathleen Moore, MHIS, director of the Alumni Association.
The convention will be held February 10 - 14.

| The
golf tournament is always a popular feature of the convention. This
year, it will be played at Redlands Country Club. Visit the Alumni
Association office for details and registration. |

Major events will be held in the Coleman Pavilion and Prince Hall. Continuing
education mini-clinics will be rolled into a plenary symposium, and the
table clinic presentations will be made and judged on the mall between Prince
Hall and University Church. The National Dental Auxiliary will host several
events, including a missions benefit concert; and dental hygiene and dental
assisting alumni will celebrate with a luncheon and continuing education.
The dental and dental hygiene alumni of the year will be presented at
the banquets. Television personality Art Linkletter is the speaker at
the Thursday evening banquet.
Student dedication
program to be special feature of convention
The Alumni Association, together with the School of Dentistry, invite
students, staff and faculty to a very special dedication ceremony on Friday
evening, February 11. This event will take place in the University Church
at 7:30 p.m.
Freshman and senior dental students, junior and senior dental hygiene
students, and all International Dentist Program students will be dedicating
their professional lives to Christian service. The Alumni Association
will present personalized Bibles and laboratory coats to the students.
Gerald Winslow, PhD, dean of the Faculty of Religion and special assistant
to the president of Loma Linda University, will give an address on the
privileges and responsibilities of a Christian dental health professional.
Music will feature the School of Dentistry students; a reception will
follow the program.
Staff are invited to attend to show their support for the students; faculty
are asked to participate by wearing academic regalia and marching in.
(Faculty: please contact the Alumni Association at ext. 44399 to express
your interest in participating.)
School of Dentistry administration has invited the families of the freshman
and senior dental students, as well as the dental hygiene and international
dentist program students, to a special dinner at 5:30 p.m. that evening.
The Dental Student Association will be giving tours of the School of
