Þ Welcome to Robert Schroetlin, who has joined the department as a laboratory assistant.

Dental Hygiene
Two new part-time clinical faculty have joined dental hygiene. They are:

Janelle (Herbert) Fairhurst, DH'88

Alyssa Debold, DH'95

Þ Janelle (Hebert) Fairhurst, DH'88: After graduation she moved to the central California coast, working in general and periodontal dental practices. She has recently relocated to our area. She and her husband have one son. She is very excited to be involved in the education of our students.

Þ Alyssa DeBold, DH'95, works in the North County of San Diego. She loves dental hygiene and enjoys gardening and painting in her spare time. Ever since she graduated, she has wanted to come and teach in the clinic. The School and department welcome these two new faculty.

Implant Dentistry
Þ A warm welcome to Cynthia Briceno, who has joined the department as administrative secretary. She worked previously for LLUMC.

Central Sterilization
Þ A warm welcome to Richard Rickords, CST, who has joined the department as a sterilization technician.

Periodontics
Þ A warm welcome to Veronica Mata, RDA, who has begun work with graduate periodontics.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Suzanne McCormick, DDS

Þ Suzanne McCormick, DDS, chair, department of oral and maxillofacial surgery, was the only invited lecturer from the United States, as part of an international panel of speakers from France, Brussels, and Mexico, to speak at the two-day Cranio-maxillofacial Distraction Course in Gratz, Austria. This course was sponsored by the European Association for Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, and hosted by the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery, University Hospital Gratz.

In February Dr. McCormick will travel to Mexico for a Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery mission, and in March she will travel to Singapore to do surgery and to teach the oral and maxillofacial surgeons there the new technique of distraction osteogenesis
