Six new residents, fellows, and externs arrived on campus to begin their studies summer quarter (2004 school year). Please give a warm welcome to:

* Dr. Dominic Côté received his DMD degree from University de Montreal (1997). He completed a general practice residency at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center and a fellowship in Hospital Dentistry at the University of Washington. 

Before entering the endodontic residency program he served as a general dentist in the Québec province.

* Dr. Philip Jo earned his BS degree from Pacific Union College, Angwin, California, in 1990 and his DDS degree from the School of Dentistry in 2001. 

After his first year at LLUSD he received a three-year health professions scholarship through the U.S. Army and served as a captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.  

Dr. Jo is married and has two daughters.

* Dr. Gerardo Toledo received his DDS degree from Facultad de Odontología in Córdoba, Argentina in 1993.

From there he practiced dentistry at the Adventist Dental clinic in Dhaka, Bangladesh (1994), until December, 1998, where he served as director-dentist. In the spring of 2002, he received the master of clinical ministries degree at LLUSD. He participated in mission trips organized by LLUSD and Students for International Mission Service to Bangladesh, Ecuador, Peru, and Mexico. 

Prior to entering the endodontic residency he worked as an assistant professor at LLUSD in a new course—Dentistry and HIV. He is married and has a son.

* Dr. Sofia I. Rodriguez Lopez, from Leon Guanajuato, Mexico, will be attending LLUSD for one year in the department of endodontics fellowship program. Dr. Lopez received her DDS degree from Universidad Quetzalcoatl de Irapuato in 1997 and a certificate in endodontics from Instituto Latinoamericano de Ciencias, Mexico, in 2001.
 

* Dr. Frank Chang of Taiwan, a 2003 LLUSD graduate, is participating in a three-month externship in endodontics. Currently he is in private practice In Yorba Linda and Mission Viejo, California .
 

* Dr. Enrico Cassai of Italy is participating in a two- month externship in endodontics. Dr. Cassai earned his DDS degree in 1999 from the University of Ferrara, Italy.
