Students dedicate lives, careers to God
GUniversity and School of Dentistry faculty and administrators
marched into the University Church in academic regalia, to Crown Imperial
March, performed by Nancy Villanueva, SD'01, organist. Other musical
praise included vocals by Alma Meza, Sunhae Shin, and Joy Villanueva,
all DH'01, and an instrumental by Adrian Dumitrescu, SD'01, and Nancy
Villaneva.
Gerald Winslow, PhD, dean of the Faculty of Religion, was the speaker for the evening. His homily was "The Privileges and Responsibilities of a Christian Dental Health Professional." The students were presented with personalized Bibles from the Alumni Association.
For the first time, senior dental, IDP, and dental hygiene students were given personalized laboratory coats embroidered with the School of Dentistry insignia.
Jacqueline Tatum, DH'00, class president, thanked the Alumni Association, saying, "On behalf of the Loma Linda University dental hygiene Class of 2000, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the joyous student dedication ceremony and dinner. The 'white coats' were a wonderful gift and provide us with the opportunity to represent Loma Linda University in a professional manner. We are grateful to have alumni who support our academic and spiritual endeavors."
