A search for new personnel brought to the office two new faces: Leigh
Ann Evans, who had been working for Dr. Goodacres office as a computer
specialist, and Roxanne Zamora, who had been working in neurosurgery services
as a records analyst. Both are making a substantial contribution in their
first weeks in the office, having to jump in at the middle of the admissions
cycle. The admissions office has had the excellent technological skills of Carl
Imthurn in our computer department, who has for years been the designer
and administrator of an excellent software program for the admissions
data. A software program, Aclient, was introduced several years ago, created
and developed at New York University at Buffalo under the leadership of
Dr. John Eisner. It was decided we should plan to become a full-time user of this software
package to assist us in the data we bring together for the application
process. As a result, we were looking for individuals who are comfortable
with technology that is ongoing and changing, making more and more information
available. Leigh Ann Evans, who had just put together a CD for Drs. Lozada and Goodacres implant dentistry, course was genuinely excited about the possibilities of working with the new software. This new software makes it possible to transfer data from the admission application to the student records after acceptance and matriculation. Roxanne Zamora will be the primary receptionist on telephone and in person
for those who are interested in admission to our programs. She will also
be involved in the entering of data for the Aclient program. Come by our
office for a piece of candy and to give a warm welcome to our two new
admissions personnel. Author Sylvia Davis, MA, is director of admissions for the School.
