Quick recovery user’s meeting update

by Marina Moore

Creighton university
Pictured, from left: Marina Moore, clinical systems manager, Kathleen Moore, director, educational technology support services and Carl Imthurn, computer programmer/analyst, recently attended a Quick Recovery User’s Meeting at Creighton University, Omaha. Nebraska.

The Quick Recovery User’s meeting was held at Creighton University (CU), Omaha, Nebraska. The CU dental school body is approximately 300 dental students. Dental hygiene students are under a contractual arrangement with CU to use the school’s clinical facilities and do not graduate with a degree from Creighton University.

There were 9 out of 14 dental schools in attendance. The representatives from Loma Linda are Paul L. Richardson, SD’72, associate dean for clinic administration, Carl Imthurn, computer programmer/analyst, Kathleen Moore, Judy Adams, supervisor, dental insurance, Anahid Benzatyan, supervisor, patient business office, and Marina Moore, clinical systems manager. The group meets in the spring and in the fall to discuss software issues with other Quick Recovery users. A representative from Quick Recovery attends these meetings, and we have a group discussion about what projects are being worked on, what new bugs came with the latest release, and what to expect in the future. At these meetings, schools are curious about our Clinical Group Practice Model and how we are tracking clinical attendance. We have established breakout sessions to address specific issues related to our areas. These meetings are informative and effective. The next Quick Recovery User’s meeting is scheduled for April 10 to 12, 2002, in San Antonio.
