Memories of the Fall Family Retreat at Pine Springs Ranch, 2002

Clean mountain air and blue skies greeted members of the dental school family who attended the fall retreat at Pine Springs Ranch October 4 to 6, 2002. For weeks a committee of students, faculty, and staff led by Fred Kasischke, assistant dean, service learning, had met to plan a full weekend of spiritual activities, children’s activities, music, and fun.

Special weekend highlights included talks by Elder Morris Venden who spoke about God’s grace, and Aaron & Colette Muth, whose mission is the Upper Room Christian Cafe in Redlands.

Saturday night, emcee Milford (Doug Mace) hosted the ’80s bash. Students and faculty provided the entertainment, singing and performing skits. The grand prize trip for two to Hawaii was won by Richard Cross, dental school photographer.

During the ’80s Bash Saturday night, Harold Schnepper won the grand prize—a trip for two to Hawaii! Dr. Schnepper, (left) who owns a timeshare in Hawaii, graciously turned down the prize, which was then awarded to Richard Cross, dental school photographer. Also pictured is emcee Doug Mace. During the Fall Family Retreat that was held October 4 to 6, student musicians led the audience in singing.
