Dr. Lane Thomsen named chair, ODRP

Dr. Lane Thomsen has been named chair, oral diagnosis, radiology, and pathology.

Lane Thomsen, SD’65, MS’74 has been named chair, oral diagnosis, radiology, and pathology. He served as associate chair for the past seven years and and as chair of the department from 1985 to 1995.

Ronald Blank, SD’75A, associate professor, served as chair of the department from July 1, 2000, to August, 2002.

“Dr. Blank is an inspirational leader,” says, Dr. Thomsen, “and it was enjoyable working with him as department chair.”

After graduating, Dr. Thomsen practiced dentistry in Northern California. He returned to the School in 1970 and specialized in oral pathology. He has been a faculty member since 1970, and has taught numerous continuing education courses.

In his spare time, Dr. Thomsen enjoys wood turning, building furniture, camping, and fishing.
