Eddie Glassford: featured employee of the month

Eddie Glassford, assistant director, School of Dentistry Alumni Association, is the featured employee of the month.

Prior to moving to Loma Linda in 2001 Eddie and his new bride, Ethelyn, lived in Northern California. He owned companies that did business in Asia, and wanted to change careers. He heard about LLU & MC through a friend and learned more about Loma Linda on the web. On a trip to Southern California he visited human resource management and applied for several positions.

The same day he interviewed with Leah Pamintuan, employment specialist, who made an appointment for him with Kathleen Moore, MHIS, director, continuing dental education. Early the following week he was hired to work in continuing dental education.

This year, he transferred to the Alumni Association. Among his responsibilities are interfacing with alumni; organizing the Alumni Student Convention; publishing the Alumni Directory; and organizing the Alumni Association Board meetings.

Before transferring to the Alumni Association this year, Eddie served as director of continuing dental education. “The staff in the CE and alumni offices work well together,” he says.

Ethelyn, who earned her MD degree in the Philippines, recently passed her California State boards as a registered nurse. When not at work, Eddie enjoys learning and studying, astronomy, and sports.
