Prosthodontics
- The advanced education program in prosthodontics has undergone a change
in leadership: Dr. Guillermo Bernal has taken over as program

Oral and maxillofacial surgery
- Three residents had papers accepted at the annual session of the American
Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons in Orlando. This includes

Analysis of Panfacial Fractures; and Dr. Robert Mower (PGY4),

most papers accepted from a single department in the country. In addition
to the resident papers, Dr. Alan Herford, assistant professor/assistant
program director, gave a presentation titled Maintaining Vector
Control During Alveolar Distraction Osteogenesis. Two of Dr.
Herfords articles have recently been published: Reconstruction
of Superficial Skin Cancer Defects of the Nose, Journal of Oral

Fibromas of the Mandible Journal of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery,
59:1078-1081.
- Dr. Philip Boyne and Dr. Herford recently wrote a book
