Dr. Robert L. Frazer Jr., who helped design the Schools
Strategic Planning Process, returned to meet with faculty and staff for
organizational audit interviews and to facilitate the Annual Retreat for
the Strategic Planning Committee.
On August 22, Dr. Frazer conducted 15 interviews with administrators,
faculty, staff, and students (seven of those people participated in the
interviews conducted in 2000).
The Strategic Planning Committee Retreat began that same evening in the
Wong Kerlee International Conference Center and concluded Friday, August
23.
During the retreat the Strategic Planning Committee heard reports and
recommendations from Kathleen Moore for information technology, Ronald
Secor for financial administration, Drs. Steven Morrow for clinical quality
assurance, Mathew Kattadiyil for outcomes assessment, and Paul Richardson
for clinic operation. Dr. Frazer gave a brief report of his organizational
audit interviews indicating the improvements that have taken place during
the last two years have been both positive and well received, particularly
by students.
The remainder of the retreat was spent crafting the strategic architecture
of LLUSD and beginning preliminary work in developing an effective organizational
model for the School.
Dr. Caruso presented the first draft of the organizational model at the
Faculty Advance Seminar held Friday, September 13. Rob Holland, Educational
Support Services, developed the computer graphic model used for the presentation.
