Two new staff join the
International Dentist Program
by Jennifer Osborne
As many of you may already know, Melinda Gurley has been
chosen as the new supervisor of the International Dentist Program (IDP)
clinic. Melinda replaces Jill Good, who is now a private practice office
manager in Oceanside.
But what you may not know is that Ms. Gurley has worked in the School
since 1991, starting in graduate periodontics as a dental assistant.
She also worked in IDP at that time as extra help.
Melinda has much to offer IDP due to the varied experience she acquired
through the years. After several years as an assistant in graduate periodontics,
she moved to the main clinic as one of our original coordinators. Melinda
also gained experience working in graduate prosthodontics as an administrative
secretary, as well as working in the data entry department. She is excited
about her new commitment to IDP and is looking forward to getting to
know the staff, faculty, and students.
In other department news, Carl Panaguiton is the new assistant supervisor,
replacing Renee Richardson, who is now teaching in the dental assistant
school for Baldy View Regional Occupational Program.
Mr. Panaguiton has worked for the School since 1995, starting out in
the graduate endodontic clinic. Carl then moved on to clinic supply
in 1997, where he worked until now. His experience will be very valuable
to IDP, and he is looking forward to the new challenges ahead as well
as becoming part of the IDP department.
